Thanks for reading my blog

I am not sure why I haven’t blogged sooner. Years ago, I had a blog but I let it go when life got in the way and technology has grown so much that it is literally like I have never used a keyboard.

I have always loved to just grab a piece of paper and jot down my feelings about something. Seems like it makes me think more about a situation to just write and rewrite my thoughts a few times and read it back to myself.

Then I started to think that it would be nice if someday my sons could read the things that I said and maybe it would mean something to them. But the more I wrote, the more I loved the process and here we are.

I scrapbook. So, it is a natural thing to need to capture a feeling for a scrapbook page. When I first started scrapbooking, it was just photos on a page. But now, I won't even make a page without a journal thought for the photo on the page. The pages won't mean anything to the next generation without the stories that go with them.

Anyway, most days I have a thought. Sometimes those end up here. Thanks for reading them and sharing your thoughts as well. If you have a blog be sure to comment so I can learn more about you.

China Visa Process

Planning a trip to China. The Visa & Passport

By whatwendysaid | Oct 13, 2018

My husband and I have a bucket list. We pretty much sit around on our day jobs and do the things that are required of us, but secretly in our minds we are always thinking about where we will go next. Once we decided that we were going to just go straight to the top of the bucket list and clear off China (the number one must do thing on our list) it became a rush to the airport for us. That’s pretty much how most of our trips happen. One minute we are dreaming and the next we are…

The Seven Wonders of the World

By whatwendysaid | Oct 7, 2018

Over the last couple years we have been blessed to get to travel. I have seen so many amazing things, I can’t even count. But the list of things that we still want to see is far longer than the list of ones we have already enjoyed. The Great Wall of China is always at the top of a bucket list. So we have decided to take one last trip this year to mark that one off while we are still able. I know, it sounds like I think I wont have enough time to see everything. My 13 year…

My hubs latest scary books 🙂

By whatwendysaid | Oct 5, 2018

My husband is a talented writer. He writes kids books, adult only scary books with somewhat of a twisted view of things, comics, graphic novels and sweet poems and so much more. I am always amazed at the things he writes. He really doesn’t have a specific type of writing. He can write something about a sweet lover one minute and a zombie eating his children the next. I love to watch him create. Check out his work at

My Son Michael’s Family Tree

By whatwendysaid | Apr 10, 2018

Michael J Baisden & Son, Michael Jaye Baisden, II Mikey was named after his father. I have so many photos of them together it is insane. I followed them around when Mikey was little and captured every single moment of them because somehow in my head from the very start I knew that they would not have enough time together. I love all those photos now and especially love all of the scrapbook pages of them together. (This photo is from when he came home from the hospital and a few days later his step-sister, Leann came to see him.)…

By whatwendysaid | Apr 3, 2018

Carnival Glory Caribbean Cruise Febuary 26, 2016 This was our first time cruising. Bil and I took this trip alone. Our son stayed with his dad and it was a completely different experience than it was each of the other times that we cruised with him along. We can never take another cruise alone now that Mikey discovered it. He actually never wants to go on vacation with us unless its a cruise. We flew from Charleston West Virginia to Miami and then go on the ship to sail. We drove down to Key West Florida to spend a couple…

National Geographic Diggers Bill has loved the history of the feud for many years now. Long before it was ever on the History Channel he was studying and working to build tourism in Hatfield McCoy Feud Country.  Bill has worked in tourism for the last 20 years in Feud Country as part of his position as Associate Professor for WVU. This moment was something he had waited a long time to see.  DIGGERS In the Diggers series, Saylor and Wyant scour the country for lost pieces of American history — from Civil War buckles to family heirloom rings and silver…

This was the most amazing day of my life. I won't say I married the man of my dreams. The truth is, I never even dreamed of anything as wonderful as him.

Venice Carnevale 2018

Hatfield McCoy Girl

The third thing that I say is the most amazing thing that ever happened in my life is the Hatfield McCoy GeoTrail Event. Sounds silly to write it but when I lay my head down to leave this world, it will be one of the things that I recall and think about.
