About Wendy

I am a scrapbooker

I started scrapbooking the year before my 13 year old son was born. So about 14 years now. I love the feel of glue under my fingernails and tiny pieces of paper stuck to my feet when I am working in my scrapbook room.

Lately, I have started doing a lot of digital scrapbooking. I don't think I will ever give up the old fashioned way of creating pages but I do love the addition of the digital process.

I am a Hatfield & a McCoy

I am the GGG Granddaughter of both Preacher Anderson Hatfield & Aunt Betty McCoy. My standing joke is, Don't make me mad.

I love the history of the Hatfields and McCoys because of this fact but also because I fell in love with my husband though our mutual love for the Hatfield McCoy Feud.

I created the Hatfield McCoy GeoTrail, He is a world renowned expert on the history of the feud and together we just enjoy learning more.

I am a geocacher

I started geocaching in 2012 and within a few years I had found over 15,500 caches. I was totally addicted.

If you haven't figured out what geocaching is, now is a great time to try it. It is a scavenger hunt game that will take you to all the locations of the feud to find a treasure box that has been hidden at each location.

You don't take what you find. You sign your name on the logbook inside and if you plan ahead you can bring some token thing to leave behind in the box for the next person to find and maybe you will find a treasure there as well.

I look back and think of finding that many caches and I admit that it was a total escape from my real life that at the time wasn't as happy as it could have been.

Now, I am blissful and hardly ever get to find more than one or two caches at a time. But I always try to find one when we travel so I can add the new countries to my finds. Though, I am about 200 logs behind and need to catch up badly.

I created Hatfield McCoy GeoTrail

The Hatfield McCoy GeoTrail is a series of geocaches that lead you to the historic sites of the Feud.

These caches are fun and can be completed by a seasoned cacher or someone who is new to geocaching but wants a fun way to experience Hatfield McCoy Country.

All you need is a phone with GPS on it and you are ready to go.

I am a mother.

I have been pretty much all of my life, it seems, now. I have a son who is going to be 30 and a son who will be 13. I pace myself.

Being their mother is certainly something that gives me reason to live my life and the moments that I have gotten to share with my sons mean more to me than any other memories in my life.

But, you are supposed to say that, right?

I am a World Traveler

Travel is something that I have always loved. It wasn't really until my husband and I got together that it became trips around the world though.

We have been to some of the most amazing places in the last few years. You can visit the top of the page and check out the Travel tab to see all the locations and even get a peek at our wedding photos at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, our visit to Cairo and the Great Pyramids or see us at Carnevale in Venice, Italy.

Paris Wedding

Getting married in Paris in 2016 was the most amazing thing. I swear I know people must be sick of our wedding photos but I just love them still to this day.
